Counselling with Jemma

Frequently Asked Questions

How often should I come to counselling?

Therapy is often best weekly therefore I would recommend that you attend sessions on a weekly basis.

what kind of people go to counselling?

There is no one type of person that benefits from counselling and I welcome the opportunity to work with you regardless of your culture, religion, gender, age or sexual orientation.

What if I can only attend a session online?

I believe that the therapy is most effective when face to face however can offer sessions online or via telephone if this is your preference.

how many sessions will i need?

This is up to you and is something we will discuss on a continual basis.   I do recommend that we initially commit to a minimum of 6 sessions together.

How do I make payment to you?

Payment can be made via bank transfer and I ask that this is received a minimum of 24 hours before your scheduled session.

How do i find you?

I can be found a 25 minute walk from Epsom town centre, alternatively the E10 bus route operates every 30 minutes from outside Epsom station and the Granton Court stop is a 3 minute walk to my practice. The bus timetable can be found here - https://www.metrobus.co.uk/services/MB/E10?date=2022-10-15&direction=inbound

Alternatively you can park for free on the road on Glanville Way.

what happens in the first session?

In the first session we'll discuss the terms of our sessions so that we can ensure we work together ethically and safely.  The first session is also an opportunity for you to help me understand why you have chosen to attend therapy.

i am interested, what do i do now?

Click the 'Contact Me' section on this website and send me a message. We can then arrange a time to speak on the phone for 15-20 minutes so that you can understand more about me and how I work, and so that I can carry out a short assessment with you, to ensure I am the right therapist for you.
