Counselling with Jemma

My training & how I work

Counselling involves speaking to a trained professional often about things from the past that may be impacting you in the present as well as stressful or challenging situations you may be facing now. I do my best to enable you to look at your issues, and liberate yourself from old scripts or ways of being that are holding you back.

This can take different amounts of time for different people, as we are all unique,  therefore the number of sessions  I offer is open ended.

There are many areas where counselling may be helpful and some of these are -

  • Self esteem
  • Relationships
  • Addiction
  • Stress
  • Coping with change
  • Bereavement
  • Abuse (past & present)
  • Issues of identity

You do not however have to be facing a crisis to want to attend counselling, and instead may be feeling dissatisfied with an aspect of your life and feel that therapy may enable you to develop strategies for living.

I hold a Diploma in Therapeutic Counselling and certificates in Counselling Studies and Counselling Skills as well as a further qualification in counselling children and young people.  I am also committed to my ongoing professional development.
